GUTS

The whitefish industry is concerned with sustainability. In the stockfish industry, people are "naturally" good at this, because the fish is picked up right outside the living room door and hung straight on a rack. But sustainability also means that everything must be taken care of - including the intestines.

In the past, it was common for the intestines to be emptied at sea, but this is no longer the case. With us, the entrails go on a conveyor belt from the gutting line to a grinder. Here everything is ground up into a thick porridge, which is pumped on in a large storage tank. This is emptied by Røst Trandamperi and transported there. Here they are converted into nutritious omega-3 products that can be bought in stores on a daily basis.

Everything can and should be used!
